Notes: The vocals are almost unintelligible on this album, largely due to the amount of reverb on the mic and others have mentioned a bit of frustration that lyrics are not included. Can you comment on why you did that? Barry: Nothing wrong with a bit of mystery is there? This vocal style seems to work best for our music, whereas the vocals become an additional musical element as opposed to a just topical layer… Notes: Your one sheet says the album is on Stickfigure/A Distant Sound, what happened with your old label, Luminal? Barry: The Luminal label went bankrupt right after the Patroness release… Notes: Are there any plans for a grand follow up album? Barry: We are in the process of finishing demos for the second album which we are looking to release early next year. We’ve also been fortunate enough to garner interest from a few musical heavy hitters about some collaboration in production and mixing, so stay tuned!
